Will I be able to order the white handset from tmobile.com on 10/22? Why can't it be preordered? This all seems very shoestring and slapped together.

I am a Store Manager for T-Mobile Corporate. The method that "roberta" has given you will surely not get you the white version. All it will do is make you wait another week and hours spent on the phone with customer service as to why you need them to resend your preordered phone back to you. With my personal experience when dealing with customer service, ALWAYS speak to a different rep about things. they will almost ALWAYS have a different answer than the first one gave you, and most of the time they are giving personal idea's not facts. So be very careful when following directions that don't seem like a corporation would allow. If you really want the white version you will just have to stick it out to October 22nd. The phone's that we get in store are reserved to customers purchasing the phone in store. No preorder pickups or transfers are allowed.

I thought T-Mobile was going to offer the G1 in white. I don't see it on their upgrade page. Just black and brown. Any idea if white has been pulled? I thought the white version with the silver back was pretty cool looking, especially the photos that are in the "GPS" thread.
