Has anyone managed to install HTC Sync on Windows 7 64Bit, I keep getting an error about drivers but the program keeps installing. When completed the program cannot connect to the phone. Any help or thoughts welcome.
Windows 7 has not been released yet. You can't accurately judge by using what is essentially a test version.
Thats odd, I didnt see you asking for anyone's opinion on support availability for W7??? WTF people, either help or don't waste server space replying.

1- Navigate to c:\program files
2- Create this directory structure underneath \HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files\Vista_x64\
3- Unzip the uploaded zip file to that folder http://the-asylum.com/files/HTC_Driver_64.zip
4- Plug Phone into Computer via USB
5- Under Notifications Mount as USB Drive
6- Navigate to http://www.htc.com/hero/m/en/downloads/htcsync.html d/l and install
7- Reboot
8- Open HTC sync, plug in your phone and follow the Wizard

How about winxp because it doesn't sync?

Sorry, perhaps take a look at Modaco forums or phandroid!
It did for me, although I did reboot both phone and pc after install to make sure.
This approach didn't work for me.
It seems to initially recognize the device, and the the HTC sync program says "disconnected".
Any ideas?
