    Well WIndows 7 is out already for a while, but Im experiencing the same problem with my 64bit version, it seems to always look for some VISTA folder. I guess HTC programmers didnt make any improvement for windows 7

    you might have to go into
    Settings->programs->development
    and switch on the usb-debug option on the phone

    After that enter "Devices and printers"->Android Phone ->Properties->hardware tab

    if you don't see and entry called "My HTC" there will proberly be an unknown "device" called something like ADB

    double-click on the entry and then click proberties->change settings->driver tab ->update driver.
    choose browse my computer
    navigate to the vista x64 driver directory abnd press next

    not the sync program might be able to see the phone otherwise try resetting the phone again

    I got this method to work once, then I synced my wifes Moment...long story short neither can sync now :-/ AHH!! Frustration!!!. Good thing these work so well with Google Sync and I can deal with that.

    Call HTC support and they will say Windows 7 x64 won't be supported for a while. They did me at least.

    I would really like to have a Droid, but the place I work does not allow camera phones. I have an iPhone which I removed the camera and it works fine but I need to get rid of AT&T.

    When I followed all these steps it installs the programs and recognizes the phone just fine. Is there a way to sync the phone with Mozilla Thunderbird? HTC Sync gives me an error message stating there is no email client, and if one is installed to make an association with the Default programs control panel but I'm not sure what to do in there.... Thunderbird is my default mail program.

    One point here is you should select "manually install" then select "have disk" then point to the vista x64 directory other wise it will reinstall the ABS drive which is cached in the %system32\inf already.

    I uninstalled all HTC apps, created the folder structure "C:\Program Files (x86)\HTC\HTC Driver\Driver Files\Vista_x64", copied the files from the previous post into this folder, then started installation from scratch. Worked perfectly for me (Win 7 64bit) Thanks!

    HTC SYNC new release 2.018 is more a pain the neck. Now syncroniszation with Outlook is no more....Can anyone help? Why does HTC bring expensive phones without a basic software?
    I desperately need some help....
