You shouldn't have to spend hours on this? We need a memory solution, what's the best way to put pressure on T Mobile?
well i know we shouldn't spend hours doing this, but i was just looking for a temporary solution to this issue, all we need t do is start sending e-mail requesting them to fix this problem, so we all need to start doing this, go to tmobile, google and android support link and everyone place a complaint, lets hope this works....
If you go into "Manage Appications" how big in the Market app? Mine has 6Mb worth of data but no way of clearing it.
there is no way to clear that, that's why i did a factory reset, then when the phone come back on, go to the market>menu>mydownloads>and download from your history and try to avoid download useless apps. mine was 9mb and after i did this process is only 2mb, and i had 29mb of internal memory left no i have 58mb, good luck
We need to put the pressure on Google too, here's the official Android Market support forum, I posted this as a question a few days back, but no official response yet. http://www.google.com/support/forum/...c8cf5448&hl=en
Make sure to add your requests and opinions.
Thanks, Shaky! (May I call you Shaky?)
You've put a lot of time and effort into researching and reporting this and I really appreciate it! Now my 71 MB seems a LOT bigger than it used to be!
Thanks again,
Reg
i think you guys are worried about nothing. that memory is cache data to make the marketplace load faster, and im sure it checks itself as compared to the free space on your device. a better test would be to get the memory usage on it pretty high, then fill a good deal of the remaining memory,.. then use it and see if it gets bigger or smaller.
my guess is it will start removing cached information.
Yes, but I don't think we are talking about internal RAM here. We are talking about internal storage, which is FLASH. Unfortunately, FLASH storage tends to get very, very slow when it is fragmented. Filling a storage medium to its limit is what leads to a high level of fragmentation. I think Shaky777 is on the right path by bringing it all back to factory settings and then adding as little as is necessary.
RegGuheert: can you outline the specifics of Android's disk cleanup for me? You clearly know more about how the OS maintains the hardware than I do...
