Motorola Mini-Usb Charger to Charge G1?

Well aren't some CAR chargers done differently and do what is called a Rapid charge, it seems like the battery gets full faster then it would if you were home on the Wall charger.. but then the battery doesn't last as long.

or has that all disappeared with Mini-USB type chargers.

I have heard that if you can use the Provided from HTC or T-Mobile in the box, standard Wall charger all the time, that it is the best choice, next would be to charge from a PC, and last resort is to charge from the Car. as car chargers are the worst way to charge a phone. or is this all crap?

I have been using a motorola charger on my g1 for the past 3 months and it suddenly stopped working. A g1 charger still charges my phone just fine, but using a motorola charger might eventually short the charger
