Music ID app ???

There is an iphone app that can ID a song if you hold the phone up to a speaker and it will search for the album and provide artist, album, title information.

Does anyone know of anything like this for android?

I have it on my ipod touch and the G1. The G1 app seems to work better, it gets the song faster.

When my friend told me to get an app called Shazam I thought it was a game or something hokey, but the app seems to work pretty well. Works really well in a car where you can hold it directly to the speaker. Little harder to get the songs in a supermarket or somewhere with faint music.

if i'm not mistaken the app was actually on android before iphone.... could be wrong, but i seem to remember it that way.

Definitely going to my list of essentials.
Mine works in the car while driving. (dont call the cops).
