I read somewhere on this thread something i was worry about, and it would extremely suck if it is true. Snoliscer8 said this:

I didn't have a chance to try out video, as I only had music on my MicroSD card.

I did plug in my MicroSD, and downloaded a few apps. The apps DID NOT appear in the directory listing of the card, which means they are stored locally. I do not know if the system will automatically start to store apps on the card once the device's memory is full.

Is this true? We cannot save the apps to our microSD cards. That sucks big time. What are we suppose to do with the crappy internal memory? Now this really bothers me if it is true.

Can someone please confirm this. Is it true you cannot download apps to the microSD card.

Thanks for everything guys. And any details would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, I hunted JUST now for your answer and Im going to say for RIGHT NOW, there is no way of downloading or saving apps to the SD card. I just tried everything, Theres a Option in the Settings menu for "Manage Applications" where it shows the version, permissions, and size of each application, the only other option inside that menu is to 'uninstall' the app.

    Sorry

What did you use to look at the SDcard before? Is there any way to see what files are in the phone itself? Most apps are only a couple 100 kBs or 10s of kBs for simpler ones from the apks I can download, so perhaps the avaliable memory on the phone (user guide said 256MB, but probably didn't include the OS which I believe is ~50MB) will be sufficient for now, but hopefully they address what will happen when it runs out.

Edit: actually in the settings you should be able to see Internal phone storage as an option so that should tell how much the OS uses.

Hey GoCubs. My questions posed earlier in this thread were not answered. Would you?

Does the G1 have anything remotely similar to a GPS like a tom tom? What apps did you use and then liked/disliked?

Not out of the box from what I understood so far, but we're sure a developer will jump on this asap.

Wow, that kind of stinks.. my iphone has almost 700mb of apps on it (after relocating to music partition). Wow, even the razr2 would let you install the memory partition. That really kind of stinks. I so hope someone can address that soon!

This leads me to believe (since that's the APN I use on iPhone) that the G1 does NOT have a way of requiring a specific data plan to work. It is accessing the same data network gateway that all new T-Mobile phones are using, and all older phones can be switched to use it too.

This is purely speculation, especially since there are rumors that preview devices are using a different APN than production devices will.
Just tried this (T-mobile UK , LG KU990) dont work.
