Very nice, thanks for the mini review. My only question is.... How did the screen, and overall phone look? Did it look cheap in any way?

They actually left me completely unsupervised, and I was demoing it to a few customers...they love me at that store. The store manager also has my phone number, so if I disappeared with it, I'm sure I'd find some nasty stuff done to my account.

She also offered me a job after I got 3 customers to pre-order it through the store.

The phone is NOT AT ALL DONE JUSTICE BY PICTURES. It was by far the most amazing feeling device I've held, and I mean that. My iPhone feels like it is going to slip out of my hands. The G1 feels solid, weighted (but not heavy) in the hand. I didn't have to grip it out of fear. The screen mechanism snaps open with a comforting authority, it's not flimsy like a Sidekick screen.

Thanks for the information. It's nice to know that someone had some hands-on experience that they can share with the community. I can't wait for the 22nd either.

Yea, just tell them to give you a G1 and walk around with it. You'll get a lot of conversion, for sure!

I would love to, except they only have one demo unit...they have to keep it for use in the store. Stupid heads.

    Sweet man, thanks.

One last question... How do photos look on the phone? Not actual photos from the phone, but more like a wallpaper, and so on. Do they look sharp?

I only ask because I'm a photographer, and will using my work as wallpapers in the phone, so quality is a major plus for me.

Pictures on the desktop (wallpapers) were clear and crisp. Not the highest DPI screen (saturation) that I've seen, but impressive...at least up to iPhone scale.
