NEw Sim Needed and OTA patches

So, I talked to T-mobile today since I like in a 3g rich area but am getting 1 bar or edge half the time. they said the g1 came with a new sim (?) and I should go get mine switched over to that one to magically "fix" my issue. First off, did it come with one? I checked the accessories out but not the manual (I had read the pdf version online way before). Is it in there? Also, is it really needed or is this some shot in the dark at an issue they have no idea how to fix. THANKS GUYS. Also, a rep did confirm an OTA patch that will begin rollout on the 23rd and end on the 26th so we all may get it at different times but we will get it. She had NO CLUE what it was fixing though.

No....that was a lie. Only new customers get a sim that you have to call in an have activated with a TMO CR.

If you are an old customer.... no new sim is required.

i dont think they came with sim cards, because mine didnt come with one i pretty much tore the box apart looking for it

I had to go to a store today and get a new sim but once i got it, it work much better

well under my phone number i ordered 2 g1's only one came with a sim card....i didnt want to switch because my contacts were saved to the card but i might give it a shot no its all been saved to gmail and see what happens..im also in a 3g area but only get edge at home. a rep at tmo told me its still 3g fast even though it still say edge which was a bull ish answer just to get me off the phone lol

umm ive been a tmobile cus for a yr now and my g1 came with a new sim card but i didnt have to use it...... you guys are just out of luck then? lol maybe you guys didnt look hard enough????

if u go to a store they will move everything to the new sim for you and it was all free

so we should go get a new sim card? I honestly didn't see it in my package, then again I wasn't necessarily looking for one because I didn't think I needed one. I'll check my box out tonight

its was within the compartment where the box were
