Hi All:
2 Topics here, please. (1) NYC/Manhattan general reception quality and 3G specifically? and (2) anyone uses Outlook on their PC's and need to sync with Gmail for both contacts and calendars?
(1) Reviews have indicated that sadly, BOTH the general reception of the G1 on Tmobile's network in NYC, particularly Manhattan, as well as the 3G internet reception, have been very poor. I do not know if anyone else can confirm that. It may be that the reviewer(s) were in a particular location that happened to be bad, or, alternatively, it may be that the G1 has poor reception due to its internal antenna. It is hard for me to believe that a company like HTC, who's so experienced in building these "smart phones", would build such a high profile phone/device and made it with poor reception! Any ideas/comments?
(2) Outlook Users:
Outlook Contacts sync'ing with Gmail's Contacts: are there folks here who use Outlook for both their contact list as well as their calendar? I have roughly 1500 to 2000 contacts, which Gmail has specifically said is ok to sync with gmail's contact module, but when i tried to import a "csv" file into gmail's contacts, there was something that didn't go right and it said that it didn't "complete". I cannot be sure but it certainly did populate many of my contacts (I have not used that contact list in gmail yet, since i'm still currently using my Outlook on my pc as well as my Blackberry's seamless sync'ing with my desktop pc's Outlook). Anyone with any advice, comments?
Outlook's Calendar sync'ing with Gmail's Calendar function: I have not done this yet. Anyone knows the "best way" to do this? How do we update the Gmail Calendar once in while after we make changes in our Outlook on our desktop PC? Assuming we use our desktop PC's Outlook calendar as our "Master Calendar", we would have to sync it with Gmail's Calendar at least once every couple of days, right? Anyone with experience in this?
Thank you in advance!
I dunno, but I have a VERY strong Edge reception in Manhattan and the demo G1 I used on 46th and 6th had very strong G1 reception.

Mmm...no one in NYC is interested in this topic?
