When i connect my G-1 with my computer witch is running vista it reads device unknown. I tried every thing reinstalling the sd card turning on and off the ds as storage device. it will work with windows xp but not vista need help.

Q: Does the G1 support MMS messages in form of a gif. because i recieved a could and it sends me a text message from 333 and directs me to mytmobile

take a pic and send it to your own number 2 times you may not be registered with the mms system. Thats why you get the 333 message.

Running vista ultimate as administrator I had no problem just plugging the device in and it installed the driver and works fine. Only thing I can think of is if you aren't an administrator or if your version of vista is lacking features.

I'm having different problems from other people:

1) My phone won't recognize the SD card (it keeps on telling me to load the SD card when the card's already in there). I loaded it correctly according to the manual's instructions. So, I'm unable to take pictures right now.

2) The included charger has the wrong connection shape; it won't fit into the charging port at the bottom of the phone since it's shaped differently. So the only way I can charge the phone right now is connecting it to my computer.

I bought a mini usb to 3.5mm adapter to use regular headphones and it doesn't work. I don't understand because it has the usb plug that my home and car charger has and they work just fine. The headphones that came with the phone works also. Does anyone know why the adapter won't work?

1. Have you used the sd card in another device? It probably needs formatting.

2. Turn it upside down.

For all my fellow Junior Androids...... spend some time reading the threads before posting, usually you find the answers to most of your questions have already been answered. It took me 2 months of lurking before I had something to say that was original.

2) Turning it upside down is not going to work. The end of the charger that connects to the phone is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SHAPE than the port shape at the bottom of the phone. The charger end is symmetrical (top is rectangular shaped and it flares out on both sides at the bottom) vs the phone part is rectangular shape that juts out only on one side. It's like fitting a square block into a round hole.

You obviously fail at the square peg square hole game.... the port that almost all htc devices is a special one for use with htc device specific adapters... AND any usb mini adapter (the charger that came in the box) if you actually tried to use the charger you would see that it fits perfectly and does indeed charge your phone.

can someone tell me when you click download in mms where the pic downloads too?and why doesnt it just show up on the screen?that is so stupid!
