i had a g1 before and went to another phone but am now back with one..what happend to the on screen texting and lnscape mode? was it done away with because of the my touch? this was one of the bigger selling points of the phone that it could do everything. thanks for the help!

Sorry for post, Have G1 Android. When SD card is connected to my PC I create a file called Pictures. Inside of pictures I create two more files called "photos" and "art". When I go to the gallery on my G1 it shows three files -- Photos, Art and All Pictures. All pictures is Art and Photos combined basically duplicating all my pictures at least once. Why and how do I get it to stop? Does the same for saved images off of the web. The picture will rest in a downloads folder in the gallery and in the all pictures folder. If I erase it from any one of the two folders it is gone for good. And can I choose download paths on a G1. Sorry again.

you need to turn on autorotate to get the onscreen keyboard in landscape mode on the G1

I have a G! that I have had for just over a yr. I have loved my phone until this past weekend. When I switch from portrait to landscape or vice versa..the screen will go blank and then a bright color. One time it will be red...then maybe next time it will be purple...or blue...or yellow or white...I am able to get phone functioning again some of the time by hitting the red button and then menu but sometimes I have to hard reset it...Anyone else have this issue? Other than that issue I have loved my G1 but T Mobile convinced me to try the Cliq..

Please don't flame me, the threads on this subject are so long and span such a period of time that I'm not sure which answer is correct.

In a nutshell, I game my wife my G1 after getting a MT3g and want to know at what point or what functions will use minutes if we don't have a G1 plan for her? It's working, she's signed in, etc. Obviously this is while she's not connected to WiFi either. No 3rd party apps installed to this point.

my g1 is in 1.5 i dont have any clue what to do to update ? i caled t mobile and they told me to look on this site. please help. dont know how to root or anything willing to learn.
