only 3 G1's replaced under warranty?
Okay, so my original G1 I had no problems with until it bricked out of the blue about a month in a half ago.
since then, I have received now my 3rd replacement that is also defective.
I was told by T-mobile that they will only send me a difference phone and I can not get a G1. My only other option would be to buy a new G1 for $179.99 along with entering into a 2 year contract. I stated that was not acceptable and asked to be transferred to Customer Retention department.
There I was told that they would be glad to cancel my contract with no fee's and stated that there was nothing they could do about it.
Can someone please explain to me how in the World this is acceptable to anyone? I want a G1. It is not my fault they kept sending me defective phones. Why do I now have to switch carriers or get stuck with a Blackberry?
Has anyone else experienced this and ben able to get another G1?
the problem I have is that it randomly types characters in while I am trying to type. It's very annoying. I assume it is a hardware problem. Can someone verify? And no, there has been no water damage to my phone.

If that is true then excuse my language but ef it lol. Get the Droid if you can get out with no fees.

I've heard of defective G1s, but 3 lemons in a row - that's insane.

Any way to get a replacement for G1 when you are out of warranty? The G1 stopped working one fine morning. And it is out of warranty by 5 months. huh.

That's so odd. I know I've received more than 3 replacements since being with tmo, and I have never had any issues whatsoever in regards to customer service.

ok i have been meaning to ask this question since i got my g1
does anyone have a g1 that the mechanism to open the screen grinded the back plate of the screen? straight down from where the little myfaves icon is located
mine is grinded down to the metal and i never returned it cuz i thought it wasnt a big deal

I planned on trying again this evening after I left work, just looking for some ammo for when I call back.
I plan on getting the droid if it gets good reviews and if it does not come to T-Mobile. I just hate being forced to do it before I get to see any reviews.....
