Have any of you tried playing pac-man using the accelerometer option? For me it's very painful. I don't know whether my accelerometer is just messed up or it's the game but when i try to tilt the device it doesn't go in the direction i want it to go. Anyone else with the same problem?
it won't even let me download pacman so it could be worse
The only way to play pacman is with the trackball. The accelerometer works as intended - but the game is all about muscle twitch speed and it just cant keep up. Accel is great for racing games etc where a small lean is all you need to turn etc.
Yeah the accelerometer def doesn't seem as sensitive as it should be, just judging by the pacman game of course. I had to use trackball.
Anyone know if fixes to the accelerometer will be included in future updates. My compass on the street view setting sucks too!
I am wondering the same thing. I have problems with only the up and left responding in pac man. Then when I try that new game in the market, it seems like my accelerometer isn't calibrated. When laying flat, the ball just goes to the left and slightly up. When I place the g1 on its right side, the ball will fall toward that side slowly. My street view is also a little wonky.
I hope it's not a hardware thing and just a calibration thing.
I think this ended up as a calibration problem. I went to bed last night and put the G1 on its right side. When I woke up, I tried the Amaze game and it worked perfectly! The same with street view. I hope this helps some of you out there with accelerometer problems. I wish there was a manual recalibration, though.
nevermind. it still acting the same way. i thought it was fixed this morning, but now i just think i was too hopefull...
It's definitely not a problem with the accelerometer, but with the game itself. You can see how well the accelerometer works from the maze game. It's perfect.
