Possible to configure 'repeatable message alerts'?

I recently bought a G1 and love it so far.

I only have one issue with the phone. Maybe some one here can help?

I'm a system admin and at work we have on-call rotations and use SMS alerts as a 'page' for when a system goes down. The Windows Mobile and Blackberry guys on the team have an application called 'Message Alerts' that they have configured to repeatedly notify them when they receive an SMS text message when on call. This makes their device behave like a pager during their on call duration.

I can't seem to find anything in the Marketplace for the G1 that can do this. Can anyone help me out? I don't want to have the Blackberry and Windows Mobile guys have a leg up.

Currently my phone give a single beep-buzz when I get a text. Is there a way to configure the notifications to be constant untill cleared?

SMS Popup has the option where you can set the number of reminders and the reminder interval.

YES!!!! SMS Popup is great!!!!!

And the reminder is something that should be in the native SMS app.

The application "Missed Call" also has this functionality.

You can set custom LED notifications for text as well as custom vibrate notifications. You can find it in the market.
