One may want to verify that the Hero ROM's license allows for that sort of thing -- just because it's Android doesn't mean it's free. Since Google opted for the BSD license, legally there's nothing stopping one from selling all or parts of Android.

I'll definitely have to check on that. I don't know quite how pleased HTC's people would be if I just released it!

Unfortunately this doesn't look like the kind of thing we're going to know in time for the review. So far all we've heard is "in the US later on in 2009", though it's now available to pre-order (in 900/2100MHz form) from a few European retailers.

I want to know if the port in the bottom has some cover/cap on the final unit, because it looked awfully alot like a**hole wide open..

We'll likely have a full text review, in the manner of our G1/Magic pieces, and video demos. There probably won't be a full standalone video review; I'm of the opinion that there are some things text does well, and other things video does well, and that the best piece has a combination of the two.

I'd like to know how you can control Flash games, since there aren't any physical keys on the phone.

Does the Hero have all the languages build in and you can choose, or there's a specific firmware for every language.
