Android doesn't have file push protocol yet due to it's bluetooth stack being in it's infancy.
hey everyone
ive been having a problem receiving pictures through bluetooth on my g1
my friend has an LG DARE (verizon) and we always connect/pair through bluetooth, but when he tries to send me pictures of bluetooth nothing happens on my g1, on the LG DARE it would say check the other phone for the status of the picture, but my g1 stays normal and nothing happens.
any ideas?

^english anyone? I also couldnt send a pic to my phone from my MacBook
The G1 does not support bluetooth file transfers of any kind yet. It should eventually but it is not possible right now.
yeah, bluetooth capable of only using a headset for now..
Was wondering why I could see the phone but not send a pic to it from my PC...
Bluetooth has multiple profiles that each handle something specific. Right now it only has the handsfree profile (BT headsets.) Hopefully soon, Google will update the OS with all the others.
New G1 user here-cool tool it is too!
Now this Bluetooth business,is it likely to be available as an update or are we expected to upgrade to the G2?

both? there are some options available for bluetooth since this post was made. blueex i think is one. or you could use cyan's build if you are proficient in commands i believe (has anyone actually used the openobex in cyan's build?)
and also there are some people working on a more user friendly version of the obenobex thing.
but then i suspect after all that google will release an official version.
