Okay, so I've seen many threads on the recent updates causing issues, and even seen a few people comment that they've seen the accuracy of their GPS go down since they've gotten the updates. The problem with the location of these threads is that they are scattered around in various update threads, and if it is okay with the mods I would like to see a dedicated thread to the link between recent updates and the decline in GPS accuracy, and if its not okay obviously just move the thread, I would just like to see some answers, or at least some thoughts on what the underlying issues might be. So I've got RC 29, and had it for a while now, but haven't tried the GPS since I had received the update. Under RC 19 the GPS worked great when I was outside, it would take a minute or so to lock on to my location, but then would follow me exactly where I went, I was very surprised! Well, today I was driving and there was dead stop traffic due to a wreck so I said to myself, why not try to use GPS and google maps to find a way around it. Well I tried it but to no avail. It never locked on to my location (in fact, it was never even close) so I just had to navigate it myself. On the way home I tried to do it again and about 15 minutes later it finally got CLOSE to my location, but the outlying blue circle never locked onto my location. It wasn't until I got close to my home that the location was close. It never locked on, which is very interesting because it used to work so well. Any thoughts on this issue?

I got RC30 last night and GPS worked fine. I had to get near the windows in my house, but it locked on to my location. It was kind of cool to see it in satellite view going from one side of the house to the other.
RC30 Walked out side took 2 minutes and had my position. Individual results may vary.
I am hoping that when I receive RC30 this will change, and it might have nothing to do with the fact that its RC29, but it was working fine before I received that update, and its not working very well now, so one would assume that since the only thing that changed was the update (I think) that should be the cause of the problem. Anyone else with RC29 see a decline in their GPS accuracy? Like I said, took 15 minutes before the outlying blue circle got even remotely close to my current location!! That is unacceptable! I want the GPS to work like it did when I originally got it!!

GPS worked OK for me on RC19, much better on RC29 and barely works at all on RC30. :/
gps uses triangulation to figure out where you are... if you happened to be in downtown dallas or an area with a lot of obstructions this could've been the case... now of course i know it doesn't sound like it since you couldn't even get a strong lock at home, but this may have been part of the issue...
also to get a more precise location more than 3 satellites can be used in the process of course...
i've had no issues with mine, and in a clear area with no tall buildings mine locks in less than 20 seconds
Buy the rumor, Sell the news.
My GPS is jacked now, it worked fine in both RC19 and RC29, but now with RC30 i don't even get the GPS icon on the phone. Just a huge blue circle of what city i am in.
build: TC4-RC30
GPS has always worked for me with RC19, RC29, and RC30.
I absolutely understand what you are saying, the problem is that I wasn't in downtown dallas, I was driving on streets where when I got my phone, I tested the GPS and it worked perfectly. These are streets that I drive daily, and before RC29 the GPS would follow me along perfectly in Maps, but on the same exact streets it wouldn't even get close, nor move at all actually. I got RC30 this morning so I'm going to see how the GPS responds today and let everyone know the update.

okay, so i received RC30 this morning and decided to try the gps out with the recent update, but I actually received the same results. The only triangulation i received was from cell towers, it was almost as if the GPS wasnt on but i saw the GPS icon at the top of the screen and i checked under settings to ensure it was actually on. I do need to note that it was SLIGHTLY cloudy when I was testing it out, but Ill try again when the few clouds outside go away. I've tried hard and soft re-setting but to no avail. Any thoughts on what might be causing this issue?
