Saving Images

I had some pictures messaged to my G1 and a Video, i was wondering if there is a way to get these onto my computer. I figured the easiest way would be to save them to the phone memory card then access using my cable but i cant figure out how to save the objects to the memory.

If they are in a text message, long press on the white area around the pic and when the menu pops up, tap "copy attached to SD card".

I dont get that option, i dont know if its an issue with my SD card or the fact im using the standard App to open MMS

Another way I have used is to attach the pic(s) you want to get onto your computer to a Gmail message and email them to some other email account (if you have one), and then open that email on your computer.
