    Smile Screen Pressure Cracked!

So i woke up in the morning and everything was fine on my G1. Went to watch a football game at a bar and took the phone out of my pocket and half the screen had lines all the way down it and was unreadable, it basicly looked like it was run over. The case and outside screen cover did not have a scratch on it though. So i went to a tmobile store (in jacksonville fl where they do not sell the g1) and the manager was of no help, i also did not have insurance! So i called customer care and i only had my phone for a week, so they are sending me a brand new phone (no refurb) under the buyers remorse clause that you have for 14 days under a new phone purchase. I guess the manager was not aware of this or didnt care needless to say i would like to punch him in his mouth. Also the customer care rep informed me he was not able to add the $18 dollar upgrade fee through his department so i would not be charged that. So basicly i send the old one back give them the tracking number, they credit my account $10 for shipping and are sending my new g1 out as we speak free express shipping. I have been a customer for 6 yrs and this is why i stay with tmobile even though they are so far behind in technology compared to other carriers. Needless to say after the in store rep told me "well we can give you a new one at a discounted price $250!" i thought i was in DEEP trouble , but customer care made my day!

Without a doubt Tmobile will replace the unit - the only question remains: have you received a order number for your phone? If not you better call them back. It took 3 phone calls when I was getting replacement myself. I had to call back back and forth until I got order number.

When my 5300 cracked, I had to pay 80 to get it replaced, and that was within 14 days of getting it. lucky.

What's a 5300? A new, untested, potentially dangerous candy bar?
