So, about the MyTouch...
Why is no one crying how cripplingly SLOW it is? Did I get a defective one, or am I just too impatient? I can type a 160 char sms message all the way to the end before the letters actually start showing up (exageration). I can count to 12 after pressing the home button before the home screen finally shows up. When I touch an icon to open an app, it literally takes up to 10 seconds to launch some times. I don't even use the phone because I can't take how god awful slow it is. I usually don't come out of the wood work for very much, but this is silly. I'd rather get a RAZR. At least it can keep up with my typing....

Something is wrong with your phone. I think, obviously, if EVERYONE's myTouch worked as your does, you'd be seeing a lot of complaints.
My mT3G seems a little snappier then my G1.
Either you have a defective phone, or you have a lot of programs running in the background. Do you have a home replacement program, and/or a number of widgets or other programs which run in the background?
I am using OpenHome, but turned off the weather widget. I have a clock widget, widgets to turn on/off wifi, sound, lock screen and bluetooth, and my phone is very quick!

I have open home set up with 5 screens and every single one of them is filled up with widgets and icons.
I have no complaints about it being slow or loading, with the exception being from returning from internet browsing like with the G1. Do you have a very large amount of texts on the phone?

Wow kommi came out of the dark!
Well theres alot of people that say its much better than the g1 as far as speed so it might be a defective phone

Of course I have a lot of texts. I have unlimited sms with the MT3G plan and I intend to milk it. But my G1 never had a problem with 1000+ texts. I have very few programs even installed and even less of them running in the background. I am using the default home application. The only widgets I use are the Retro Date widget and the google search bar.
Maybe my phone rolls Alliance and hates me for putting a Horde background?

I just posted something about the "MyTouch" 3G signal, NOT living up to the G1 3G signal.
My mother HATES her phone, she calls me at least 3 times a day (cryingabout that damn phone.
I told her to use wifi while in the house and stop complaining, Lolll
* I also had to teach her how to search while in the market (not having a qwerty keyboard) can be a pain while trying to do so.
