I ran across this for those who can't leave Outlook behind:
http://www.cemaphore.com/mailshadow_g.php
Syncs mail, contacts and calendar - current version requires that you are running exchange, but cust serv says they will have a version in 4 weeks that works with Outlook without exchange.
not freeware like http://www.getkigoo.com/ but mailshadow does email too - not just contacts and calendar
MailShadow for G seems good... but I'm not into the subscription model...
I'd rather have a perpetual license.

These sync seem to require application that sits with exchange or sits with your outlook which means your computer must run 24/7. Hopefully there will be more apps that sits in Android to sync to exchange (multiple exchanges would be better)

I agree - I'd rather just buy the software once - at $30/yr though it's not too bad. For what I'd use it for it wouldn't have to run all the time - My G1 will always be syncing with Google and I would only use this app when I crank up my laptop and want to see the same info via Outlook.
google has a free app that syncs your calendar (exchange, outlook) with google's. you can get it on their website.
Link? This is the one thing that's making me wait before getting the G1...
Use gsyncit to sync your calendars and contact list/groups. It's only $10 which is cheaper than most other commecial products. Plus, it supports multiple contact lists and calendars.

For email you can use the built-in pop/smtp support in Outlook to connect Outlook with gmail.
