texting issues

ok... lets say me and you are texting back and forth (you initatied it) and someone new texts me .. for some reason the new persons text will show in your thread... now i dont know who i am responding to because i cant seperate the two conversations. This does not happen if i stated the thread, and even if the people are saved as contacts it still groups them .. please help me .. I need to fix this!!!!

The messaging app in the Hero is HTC made... it has a few issues, including a battery drain bug.

Get ChompSMS or Handcent from the market.
