My biggest hick-up with the iPhone itself was the virtual keyboard. I've had sidekicks since the early days and the QWERTY keyboard is my best friend. This is like my dream come true.

We all have to remember that it can be updated so after a few months they'll fix the little stuff. The iphone started of plain and now it has a lot more to offer. I think its really good so far but in about 3 months it'll have everything we need. Video capture can be added later.

Years ahead? Its a catch up but its not ahead of anything. The iphone has the same general specs and is almost 2 years old. So in reality is not so last week its so 2006...

That said at least the g1 is interesting, unlike the iphone which is about as interesting as watching a bridge rust.

i guess we shall see..make a list of what the iphone can do vs the g1 with android

that iphone list will stop sooner, open source = endless possibilites = years ahead.

you probably own apple products, and well obviously you're all about the G1, probably because its..years ahead, and so innovative

    and i can prove it.

I'm just really wondering if Samsung or LG is going to put out a sweet iPhone-esque Android device... all touch screen, no keyboard? I guess we need that virtual keyboard first!

    Exactly!

With Android's open platform this phone should be good for a long time

being that its open source, you can take existing hardware and add new functionality to that hardware, its friggin great
