HTC-G1, I gave you some rep! Woot! Lots of apple products in my house that is for sure, but no iphone. I think you missed the meaning in the last line,
"that said at least the g1 *is* interesting, *unlike* the iphone which is about as interesting as watching a bridge rust."
So I am here where it is not so boring. Goodbye Apple, Hello android! I should (r)(c)(tm) that...
$299 ? Where ? I got quoted two prices so far:
$180 plus a new 2 year contract
$399 without the contract
Unfortunately my current contract with t-mobile is good for another 1.5 years so
I would have to pay $399 which just seems too much... for $180 I would have done it the day it came out.
Now I am stuck in the decision if I should pay $240 to renew my goodlink on the treo for another year and hope there is an even better android phone than the G1 by then, or get over it and pay the $399 for the G1 hoping that there is a third-party corporate email+calendar integration (outlook) that is good enough and not too expensive...
decisions, decisions...
So far the G1 has been getting better and better since I got it on october 20th. Like 3 of my friends sold theirs and regreted it days later. If u haven't got a g1 feel free to wait a few more sweet devices will be comming in, but from what I see none as good as the G1 hardware wise.

The only difference between the Dream and upcoming Android devices will be the hardware...
Other then that, it's pretty much looks that separates the G1 from upcoming devices. And I have to say I like how the G1 looks.

It could be a lot sleeker. It's almost as if HTC and Google opted for every conceivable user input mechanism possible (touch screen, physical keyboard, and trackball) on the very first Android device. I don't think future Android devices will incorporate all three.
