Unlocking rumors. Immediate, 14 days or 90?

Is it true that only military personnel can unlock this phone after 14 days? I've heard it's either immediate upon request OR have to wait 90 days!

I'm travelling to UK in early December and have a UK sim card from Vodaphone which makes calling there very cheap. So need to be able to unlock this!

i believe everyone can unlock once your outside your states buyers remorse policy.

From my understanding, if you have been with tmo for over 90 days, they should be able to unlock it. It shouldn't be from the date you purchased the phone. If they give you any trouble, just do what I do, ask for the supervisor and make the story as drawn out as possible so CS is tired of you and will do as you please. HTH

yes this is true 30 for cali 14 days anywhere else.

Militry customer have special privalage for the unlock just tell them your military and shouldnt be any prob. Just tell the rep to look under the sim unlock policy and they will find the instructions on a military unlock request. Sorry for the double post.

Traditionally you can have one phone unlocked every 90 days. The problem that happened when I asked for another phone to be unlocked to give a friend that they have to contact the manufacturer for the info and in my case it took 2 weeks from request to finally getting the info although it was supposed to only take 2-3 days.

that is so not true, i just got my phone on 10/21 n they already sent my unlock code, if they tell you no just hang up n keep calling back, thats what i had to do but make sure you haven't had a phone unlocked within the past 90 days n you have to be a tmo customer for 90 before they'll unlock it
