I'm new to the software thing but I have rooted my G1 and running the Rom.
My question being will the Hero have the same Flashing capabilites like we do on the G1?
Or will it be all closed off and we're stuck with the Stock firmware for ever?
only time can tell once devs get a hand on the actual device.
now, we can only speculate but im pretty sure we can. (dont quote me on this) lol

Well, I think we should be concerned, and here's why:
The myTouch has this SPL: 1.33.0006
And according to Haykuro, this phone is "not rootable" due to the SPL...
I'm concerned about future phones

i think eventually all android devices will get rooted... someone is going to do enough poking and prodding until they find a solution...
take the psp scene for example... every update sony released was supposed to stop homebrew... yet devs found a hole everytime...
