Default Wired.com calling the G1 one of the top 5 cell phone bust of 2008.

Just found this article, and find it kinda funny how the phone is not even out yet, and they have the nerve to call it a bust.

The Letdown: Letdown: The G1's unveiling was a lot like the Bigfoot press conference — a long, awkward presentation that left a lot of people confused and/or disappointed. The handset poised to out-iPhone the iPhone had a laundry list of hardware letdowns: bulky, unattractive, and saddled with yet another proprietary headphone jack. Under the hood, the G1 had even more perplexing issues. Any sort of multitouch interface was missing, as was Microsoft Office support (beyond viewing), and video playback. Updates to Google's Android OS could salvage the device (à la the iPhone 3G). But for now, the G1 doesn't even trigger the same excitement as a gorilla costume in an ice chest.
    How stupid.

What bet that six months later they'll be calling this thing the 'greatest device ever made'.

That's expected, its the potential of the Android OS that makes it the best.

And I don't see how the Dream looks unattractive. I think it looks sweet. Its got a touch screen, a real keyboard, a track ball - the best of all three leading phones.

The white back one is easily the best one, and its only a shade worse looking then the iPhone.

Not many updates from the 2G model.

LOL, his answers make me wonder how he even has that job. The let downs that make it a bust are ridiculous!

    I disagree

I think it looks very clean. Once you see it in person maybe your opinion will change
