I would love to have voice-dialing activated by my Bluetooth headset. Something that would mimic what every other phone seems to do already.
e.g. You press a button on the headset and it asks you thru the headset to "say a command." You then say "dial XXX-XXX-XXXX" or "call Mom at Home" and it simply does it. Or if it doesn't quite understand you, it will come back with "Did you say 'call Mom at home?'" and you say "yes" and then it dials the number automatically. Doesn't use the phone's speaker; doesn't require you to press any buttons on the phone or look at the phone's screen in any way.
Every other phone in the world does this -- my old Motorola KRZR K1m did it, and did it quite well. My new Motorola Droid has TONS more smarts than that old K1m did, and it can't do it? That's nuts...
Please, someone, write an app for this! Or Google -- put it in there natively as an update!
Yeah the lack of that feature pretty much made me give up my Bluetooth headpiece it now sits plugged into my keyboard in some kind of perpetual charging state. Which I guess is better than being at the bottom of a drawer someplace. I would rather charge out then fade away. I did manage to get some voice dialing by using the Blueant V1 headpiece. Sadly I have a desk job now and really have no need for my Bluetooth I don't talk on the phone in my car at all.
I agree +1
Hi. On mine I have to hold the phone button for more than 5 seconds and then the voice dialer pops up.
I appsolutly agree with the idea that we need a blue tooth dialer. I can't believe google left this out. Where is the app???????
Apparently, Wikipedia states that the 1.5 release added... "Bluetooth A2DP support (which in turn broke Bluetooth connectivity with many popular cars and headsets. This has still yet to be fixed as of Dec-09)"
With all the hands free/eyes free laws coming down the pike, I'm amazed that this has not been more of a fuss...
Any info regarding inclusion of a future fix would be greatly appreciated!
