    Default NHL live-scores

    Hi!

We have made an application (J2ME + WM) that provides live scores for European soccer (Premier League, Serie A++) but the application is very general so it would be easy to include other sports that have:
    - Set of fixtures
    - League table
    - Top scorer

Since we are now rewriting the application to Android we were thinking about including other sports, and mainly something that people in the US would be interested in.

Is there any sport apps today that provides similar functionality? And what sport would have the largest market potential? All opinions are welcome!

My first thought was NHL since the scoring there isn't that different from soccer. Only thing we need to change is to include the assist information.

I would GREATLY appreciate a live NHL score app, as I can't be home for all the games I need to watch.

Im def a big hockey fan, but I'm an even bigger NFL fan. The NFL will appeal more to the mass than hockey would, for the US at least. Go to Canada and its another story. For now I use SportsAlert.net for mine until something better comes out. It would def be cool to have an app that would alert me rather then waiting on this site to send me a text message which only works about 80% of the time.

    By the way: Go Stars/Cowboys!

    Hi!

I tried Viigo on my Windows Mobile but I didn't quite get it to work. It said beta version so maybe that's why.

NFL: Our score provider only sends the current score here. No data about which player scored and so on. That's not that interesting is it? Just the score?

Our main thing with the score alerts for football is that the phone polls the server for new updates and if a new score is available is vibrates and plays a user-defined sound. It also lists who scored the goal. Services who just lists the current score isn't what we want to deliver because then we could just embed a web page in the application and the application would be done in 1 day

Looks like it's going to be MLS or NHL. Guess NHL is much more popular?

I'm okay with the Stars cap space now that I've seen Brunnstrom play, man, one of three players in the history of the game to tally a hat trick in his debut, now thats something!
