Nyc MTA google maps

it would be nice to see (im not sure if they have already) an app for google maps for the mta in nyc. i hear recently google made it easier to find a train station and directions, but they should come out with an app for this (and for other major city areas) what yall think..??

Good idea. Most cell phones in Asia do this. We need this here.

Thing is this map is already online and is a great clickable one. Shows all service at any station you choose etc. I am not sure this needs a separate app.

There is also a trip guide to find directions there as well.

i don't mean the map.. u can get a subway map anywhere.. im talkin about an app to give people from popular (and not so popular) places a maps of the subway, schedules. for example lets say i live in nyc. on this app it would ask me to choose what city i live in. and that transportation service would come up (The trains, buses boats extc) then the schedules of those services could come up. and also they should make a trip planner. so if i needed to take a bus and a train it would tell me the times. ya know.. here is an example http://maps.google.com/maps/mpl?f=d&...=google%20maps

that is a good idea though. or even a schedule like the long island rail road for the G1

The trouble with the MTA map is that I can't access it when I'm underground. I'd also love an app that duplicates that info but doesn't require a connection to work.

basically they need to just implent SUBWAY search into the google maps app where you just type where you are and where your going and your method of transportation ( feet,car,transit ) and then it just gives you the full directions from start to finish transfers est time etc they have it out for the IPHONE and BLACKBERRY already..

I went to San Francisco with my girlfriend who has the iphone, she used google maps and when she asked it for directions, she could pick by car, bus, train, or their "subway" the BART, it told us what bus to get on and what train to get on, when it left and where it was going, it even GAVE US DIRECTIONS to the stops and stations. WHY DOES MY GOOGLE MAPS NOT OFFER THIS?? Can we please get an update so it does? Pleasseeeee?
