My biggest complaint with the android OS is that my calendar appointment alarms only beep once rather than say once a min. until checked.
The single alarm is easy to miss. I have already missed appointments this way since switching from a Palm.
I would love to see an application that adds the ability to have the calendar alarms sound once a min. or once every X seconds until they are dealt with (snoozed or dismissed).
Try the app called "Missed Call." It includes settings for repeat notifications, including calendar notification.
INstalled missed call. They said the calendar notifications were not 100% functional yet, so it only gives the led, not a ringtone or vibration. But you can pick the color. I have blue for SMS Chomp and green is default. So I picked white. At least now when I look at my phone I know it is flashing me an appointment.
I personally use this.

It throws up an icon in your task bar set how many hours, days, weeks you want before an appointment. Just make sure you deselect the disable icon selection. If you dont' you will not get an icon in your notification bar. I have all my birthdays set to all day so yesterday I checked my phone and there was a notification reminding me that it was my mother in laws birthday. Normally I would blow it off and say who cares, yeah I know what an ass I am. Anyways I had to look at it all day so I called her up and wished her Happy Birthday.
I know this is an old post, but it is a new problem for me. I just bought a Motorola Droid and the original post is a real problem for me too. I need the calendar notification to continue to go off until I cancel it. Once is not enough. I came from Blackberry Storm and had the BugMe app that worked great. I am trying Missed Call, but I can't get it to even show the alarm/notification for the calendar in the setup menu.
I have searched for a week! Any suggestions?
This has been an ongoing problem for me as well. The best solution I have is to find a long ringtone as your alarm. You will have to download this. Also I bought pure calender widget. It allows me to view my whole week of appointment on my home scree so I have a heads up. If any one has a better solution please let us know! Anyone find it strange that this web site does not display in full screen on an android phone (or any phone)?
You can set multiple reminders in the calendar. maybe set ten in a row one minute apart for now.
