Default Screen brightness schedule and screen capture

Hi guys. I recently upgraded my iphone 3g to a Rogers HTC Magic and GOD I love this phone!

Well, the iphone had the ambient light sensor and the closest thing to this on the Magic would be an application to change the brightness like, from 8am-5pm 100%, 10pm-5am 50%...something like that. I had a Blackjack 2 that used something similar to turn on the keyboard backlight. I already have a widget which I just click to change brightness but an application to do this automatically would be nice.

Also, a screen capture application would be nice too. Current method is a bit silly IMO.

    Thanks!

You can try this app it can do that and more! Timeriffic http://www.cyrket.com/package/com.alfray.timeriffic
Turn mute, vibrate, brightness, wifi and airplane on/off custom to your schedule, by time and day.
    Simple. Easy. Timeriffic.
Example: unmute volume at 7am when going to class. Vibrate at 8am, then full volume at 9am.

Thanks! Just installed it and going to test it during the week. WHile searching for it on the market I also found "Brighteriffic" which apparently is what I was describing!

Nice to know! I just don't want to root yet. Mine's a Rogers and process is slightly different from what I've seen on the forums.

    But thanks!

Open Home has a "screen capture" option now..

The second pic is an example of the screenshot, pretty sweet. You can only screenshot the homescreen tho.. no menus

Well, I love Timeriffic! I was just looking for the brightness but it's very, very usefull! Using it now and forever I guess!

BTW, don't want to make a new thread for this, but does the Apps I have installed update automatically? I mean, if the dev updates from version 1.9 to 2.0 I get a notification or something?

    Thanks!

did u try that app "ambientlight" or something like that? idk if its still in the market but its pretty ingenious, it uses the cam for a quick sec to detect light in the room ur in and then it adjusts after u wake up the screen, takes like a sec tho but i liked it

Yes, Android has built-in notifications for updates of applications. I seem to get them in a batch about once a day.
