Volume button lock for ringtone volume

I wish for this also, in fact if there was some command I could run to disable the button it would be worth it for me, happens way to much

I know remapping the volume key is possible within apps since Bratag has the white balance in SnapPhoto mapped to it.

So...Is it possible for an app to lock the volume? Anyone want to make a widget to take that on?

I have to agree! Really annoying problem that the ringer volume is going down in my pocket or in my hand...anywhere...and just got miscalls...

Yes Gardenwife, you pegged a good one. I tend to keep my phone on vibrate. So it's just one push of that tiny little button and it goes completely silent and i miss everything. There's so many 'profile managers' and 'settings controllers, doesn't one of them disable that button?

Hi unfortunately there is no way to disable the volume keys, when the application has no focus. But I worked out a work around - and here it is:

search in the market for pub:New or open directly on your phone:
market://search?q=pname:a.Vol

Hey, Magic! What a creative way around the issue. Thanks for putting it out there!

I installed it and have been trying it out. It's worked great! I've purposely lowered the volume just to see what happens and your app consistently resets it to 100%.

I haven't had a chance to use it a lot yet, but it appears it might be causing the battery to drain more quickly. That could all be in my head, though. I know widgets that poll for data online deplete the battery; do background apps like this one?

One request -- please either lighten the text in the app or change the background color to a lighter one. Right now it's black on dark blue and very hard to read.
