Default Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 gets official: Hands-on Video Demo

SlashGear got hands-on with the XPERIA X10 Android-powered phone...Click to read the full hands on and watch the video

Sony Ericsson have finally come clean on their latest smartphone, and as expected it’s an Android flagship. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 – previously known as the Rachael and the X3 – is a Snapdragon-based touchscreen candybar, with a huge display, 8.1-megapixel camera and some “special sauce” in the shape of two homegrown applications – for communication aggregation and media aggregation – with a custom UI. SlashGear caught up with Sony Ericsson in London yesterday to take a look at the new smartphone, and find out why the company reckons this is the launch not only of the Android X10 but of a new “user experience platform”.

Sucks for you I pity anyone who has bought or is planning to buy that piece of junk Moto Cliq...

The Cliq is using outdated hardware, in my opinion, and is running Moto Blur (bleghk).

I wouldnt say it sucks(although it sucks lol), its just for the teen crowd. Its the most connected phone you can get.

should of been called the "Moto-heavy-as-hell-great-for-teens-Cliq"...but getting back on topic: Im hoping that Sony Ericisson will decide to give XPERIA android 2.0 instead of keeping 1.6 by the beginning of 2010.

Any ideas as to which carrier is going to get the X10 or is it going to be unlocked only? The phone looks amazing, but I don't know how crazy I am about styling of the OS. I'm assuming all the faces and stuff are pics that you load in? Might be kinda weird if you don't have pics of all your contacts. Plus, I don't care for the Facebook and Twitter bloatware.

BGR is reporting that it's going to Rogers in Q2. Hopefully Rogers negotiates an OS upgrade path to 2.1 and beyond before they release it, otherwise it will another android flop for Rogers.
