I know that the Droid phone will not have multi-touch support and the Milestone will. Many reviews say that the droid's SCREEN does not support multi-touch.
so is it...
a. The reviewers are just using the wrong language and the phone is capable of multi-touch, but is just left out of the OS (like the G1)
b. The phones hardware simply does not support multi-touch no matter what software or hacks have been done
THE European version has multi touch, the states version doesn't probably because Apple has pinch to zoom patents and such.
The G1 screen hardware actually didnt support full multitouch, the hack allowed for it but it had its limitations. The Droids screen can handle full multitouch, it was just left out in software. I dont get why people say that they dont do it because of the iphone becuase the pre uses it and nobody says anything. I dont know what the reason is but it isnt that.

good article ^
You know theyre slowly seperating themselves from each other dont you? Removing members from each compay from their board due to them vying for market share in the same business.
It was motoralas decision not to include it in the states, not googles, or else google wouldnt have written support for it into 2.0.

Also that article (which ive already read) doesnt really indicate that its apples fault at all, and it definitely isnt patented as of now.
