I was wondering where the weather + flip clock widget is? I don't see it from the default widgets, so I'm guessing I have to download it from the market. I guess I should ask for the exact name of the widget from the market then because I can't find it. Thx for any help
what phone do you have cause their is a HTC specific one only on their phones but you can get one similar to that in the market called beautiful widgets but its not free
I have the nexus one
NexusOne runs stock Android 2.1... therefore, the HTC widgets do not run on it. You need to be running HTC Sense for the HTC widgets (flip clock, weather) to run on your device
I wish they would just open them up to work on stock Android since they now have a device (NexusOne) that runs stockmaybe soon...
It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me
There's an app called "Weather Widget - Donate" that has the flipclock and weather widget look. It doesn't have the nifty flip animation that the HTC widget does, but it's skinnable and looks really good. You may wan to check that out. The dev is "Android Apps".
I signed up today and don't know much (to say the least) of androids.
I am looking to buy a Nexus One but I noticed that the Nexus does not have the clock/weather widget, as mentioned above.
I particularly like the springboard theme with the widgets..
Is there a way to put those widgets (incl the flip animation) on the Nexus?
Is there a way to 'jailbreak' the device and then run the widgets as themes?
I mean the OS is Android like the other HTC devices that run those widgets right?
Sorry for asking these noob questions...
There are several weather widget clocks in the market but I don't think there is one that actually flips, would be a big drain on the battery.
In android we root the phone, not jailbreak, giving us the ability to mod the phone. Themeing it, customizing and modding it to our specific likes.

Thanks ggrant3876, there certainly will be similarities for me between jailbreaking/rooting and themeing androids and iphones.
I will get back here and to you when I have my N1 (can't wait!), on where to start and how to go about things.
Until then I will first go through the threads and info you have given me and do some homework![]()
