A stronger phone when holding... maybe? lol

I was curious if any of you guys have been feeling a bit uncomfortable when speaking on the G1 because sometimes the sliding-mech seems to feel a little weak when having it by your face. Maybe it's just me but i would really like if the phone felt more stiff while speaking on it. Like for instance if we were able to create a case to sort of not allow it to open or to sort of latch-it lol.

i know it seems crazy and I'm sure it's just the way the phone is built and it's not that big of a deal but wouldn't it just be nice to have the choice... i would especially if "cupcake" is coming around and i may not exactly need to have to open it just to type (even if it's a little faster lol)...

yeah I know what you mean. sometimes when im talking it feels like it may slide. but other then that it feels very strong.

Yeah, I notice that, but just find I kind of get used to it.

I have wondered:

what if there

was a case that

had a long tab on the right

side of

the screen and deck

which could snap open (and closed)

to

allow

the screen to slide over.

this would relieve the issue

of flimsy feeling screens whilst calling

but

also

allow one to open the latch

easily to allow for

physical

QWERTY use.

Umm, please never post like that again, Mr. Excessive Carriage Return. I find that zooming out on my G1 when posting helps to see the whole text entry screen

And as far as the G1 in-hand-calling-feeling . .. . I love it. It's perfect. Seriously. I have never had a phone that I wanted to continue talking on. They always would get hot against my ear. I don't know how iPhone people do it. The foot angle on the G1 is brilliant for this purpose, and the part that gets hot is far away from my ear. As far as calling clarity, reception, stability, ergonomics, weight and width, the G1 is perfect a 10/10 in my book. Best cellphone for calling I've ever had. If you want to know what my bases for comparison are, I'll be happy to give you my list.

my in-hand call feeling is good. i never think its going to slide off

My first G1 felt that way and it also made a creeking noise when I used the touch screen. The second has none of these issues. Also I do not open it alot and I think that may be a issue if you constantly do and when i do open it I guide it open I do not let it "snap"
