    Smile Accelerometer for g1 web?

Does any one does the accelerometer work for going on the internet, Instead of keep pulling up the keyboard to make the screen landscape?

Doesn't appear that the accelerometer is active with the browser.

I don't think it does at the moment but I'm sure that could be an easy implementation later.

i already started a lengthy thread about this. Browser out of the box does not use the accelerometer, lets go app developers!

The phones far behind, but with firmware updates &developers making these, apps, icons, etc. It'll eventually become better. Hopefully. Hope the 2nd version is a lot better.

The phone is not far behind, they just left alot up to developers so they dont have to do it, plus we will have a selection of wich apps to choose

I don't mean far behind as in it sucks. I just mean its behind as far as coming right out the box. Its the first and newest version of its kind so still gotta work out the kinks, etc. It lacks some basic essentials which overtime can be fixed through updates, firmware etc.

And as for leaving it up to developers? Bad choice in my mind, if you put a phone out, have the basics down. Don't put out a phone out and hope developers will make it all the better. This phones only as good as its apps/media is. As you can see, theres video format issues, no flash on the camera or video recording, no easy find file directory to manage view files, no accelerometer on web browsing. Theres a lot that still needs discovering and firmware updates that can help it. And apps that can contribute to it to make it a better phone. Needs multi-touch, &fix the messaging lol, group by name its a lot easier.

Far behind what? Can't be far behind nothing.

As for the lack of accelerometer support in the apps it's clearly a deliberate design decision. Not sure why they didn't make it an option, but they clearly made the choice not to utilize it.
