I doubt that. Apple is in the hardware business. They come out with awesome new gadgets and give you only the features they want you to have at that time.
Sure, if they allowed Android to be installed on the iphone, a few of us would get iphones and turn them into gphones, and they might make a FEW sales in the geek market. --But if migration was widespread, there would be NO reason to buy the 3rd version of the iphonee when it comes out. As it is right now, next year when they release the iphone 3, EVERYONE with an iphone 3G will buy it to get a slightly thinner, higher-res phone "NOW WITH MMS!" "NOW WITH COPY & PASTE!" "INTRODUCING TRUE TURN-BY-TURN NAVIGATION!"

If all iphones had an open-source OS on them, they'd already have all those features, and the only reason anyone would upgrade is for new "style". Open source is good for consumers, NOT for companies that insist on keeping everything closed, proprietary, and very limited for the purpose of selling upgrades every 6 months.

LOL that is 100% true and is the reason why companies do those things. Think about this for a second.

I have an idea for an automobile that is entirely electric very few moving parts and could drive indefinatly without ever needing to be recharged and could outperform many supercars in the market. I've pitched the idea to GM, Dodge, and several of the import automobile makers. But no biters.
The reason... very simple, if they sold those cars, nobody would need to replace their car 6 years from now when their motor blows up or the parts for all the engine pieces that go bad every once in a while.

There are even rumors that we have the technology to make small cell batteries (like AA, AAA, C, D) that could last 100x longer than the counterparts on the shelves today.

Even better yet there are rumors that we have already found the cure for cancer but the company that discovered it will not release it because they will lose money in cancer treatment medicine and machines.

Business's rarely care about the consumer, they care about making money for the cheapest possibly investment. which is why we usually 9 times out of 10 get the shaft when it comes to buying commercially produced products.

But this is what makes me happy about google. Their products are FREE and are so open to the community. This is why I am so excited about Android. Finally a company that cares about the consumer and what WE want is stepping into the communication ballgame and trying to redirect the way we think about the business world. Bravo Google! Bravo!

Sorry, Android doesn't really run on the iPhone, they just are displaying pictures of Android on the iPhone.

I HOPE they don't do this!

The iPhone is android's biggest competitor, we should keep it to ourselves and distribute it to all companies other then Apple and watch it die

Just kidding, I have problems with Apple or the iPhone, but business wise it wouldn't be a smart idea I don't think.

That would be pretty awesome. Though it could also just be full-screen images.... or the Hi-Phone.

I'm still waiting for an Android phone to go to Sprint and be compatible with their Simply Everything plan....
