Buying Kogan andriod phone

I'm looking at buying an andriod phone, and I am interested in this Kogan phone pro version

The G1 is alright but not a nice looker .

Is Kogan pro a good phone or shall I wait for LG or samsung?

I guess it depends on where you are from. I thought that phone was for Australia only.

I can't understand why everyone isn't jumping on the Android zzzphone bandwagon, WTF?

I mean, it's totally awesome . . . you can order a projector for it, and if you have $225,000 laying around, you can get the solid gold and diamond powerup. Who doesn't want a QWERT keyboard? Who doesn't want to be scratched in the face by an obvious sign of their enormous wealth while they're trying to order a pizza from Dominos? Kogan phone . . . pfft!

This seems to be a common misconception. You can preorder it internationally. It's not tied to any carriers, which is an attractive feature. I went ahead and made the plunge and ordered it. Now time will tell whether or not I made a mistake.

Oh crap!! I think I may have made a mistake. I just barely went over to AndroidGuy.com and found out that Google now is off a completely unlocked G1 to anyone who claims to be a developer for $399 plus $25 registration fee. The Kogan phone ended up being less than $300 in US dollars, so this G1 would be $100 more which is not too bad. Check out the groovy case in comes in:

I emailed Kogan requesting refunding, but I figure if worst comes to worst I could sell it on ebay, so I went ahead and made the plunge for the developer edition G1. I've now learned that not only is it unlocked from carriers, but the hardware is also unlocked. I can do anything I want with this thing without risking what some hacked jailbroken thing will do to it.

Good to know! I kinda had my eye on it, but i was discouraged in thinking it was AUS only. Might get one ^__^
