    Default calendar all messed up

    Hi,

Somehow my G1 calendar and my Google calendar are not looking the same no matter how many times I force it to sync.

Is there any way I can tell it to consider my Google calendar correct and to replace everything on the device with the stuff on the server?

I can't seem to get them re-aligned. Not sure how this happened.

    Thanks

    hey mlevin,

    Two questions for you:
    1) did you import any events into your Google Calendar from somewhere else? (Outlook/gSyncIt, for example)
    2) are the missing/broken events scheduled to repeat?

I ask this because from my own experience, a subset of imported events that repeat do not show up on the G1.

Here's my experience: I used gSyncIt to import my calendar into Google Calendar, but my G1 wasn't showing some of the repeating events (I believe the ones that were repeating 4+ days of the week, like MTWTh). The only way to get the G1 to show these "broken" events was to edit and re-save them inside of Google Calendar.

In a nutshell, I suspect it's gSyncIt that is creating repeating events that Google Calendar understands, but the G1 does not.

If you're NOT importing events, then that tells me that the problem is more serious than that!

I second this. I too imported into Google Calendar using iCal format. Repeating events have huge problems when imported, and you have to specifically take note of the start date. For some reason if you don't specify a start date in other apps, when imported, Google Calendar assumes a start date of 1900. All of these will not work on the G1. I had to manually edit about 300 entries in Google Calendar for them to appear on the G1.

Yes, it looks like my problem was that some of the repeating events show up on gcal but not on the g1. I imported some from Outlook. Blech. I had to manually fix a bunch of them, but I think I'm OK now. I hope they improve the support for repeating events on the g1 as that is pretty annoying, and people are likely to continue sending me repeating events via Outook -- so if they make it to gcal but not to the phone, that's not very useful to me...

I've got a similar problem. I'm syncing from Outlook to Gcalendar via CompanionLlink but if I delete an entry in a recurring meeting, the meeting is deleted from Gcalendar but not in the G1. Overall, it's pretty close but I expect a 100% sync between the web and phone. When it comes to calendards, close isn't good enough...

I tried gsyncit and it made a royal mess of my GMail contacts so I tossed that one pretty quickly. CompanionLink does a nice job - what's in Outlook is in Gmail & Gcalendar.

    I made the opposite experience....

Companionlink moves at a random base, all my outlook contacts to the Deleted Items folder... But it does not delete them from gmail, fortunatelly... So I'm just about to quit companion link and to by gsync... any recent experience with it ?

it seems that the developer is a lot more active then companionlink developers.
