Default Calendar always has default reminder

No matter if I create a new event on the web, or on the phone, every event i create has a default reminder of 10 minutes.

I deleted the reminders on the phone, and even though it disappears from the edit view, when I list the events by day it has the little bell icon next to each event.

    Anyone else notice this?

FYI for anyone who cares: I figured out what was wrong. Google Calendar has a default setting of 10 minutes for any new Calendar event you create.

So, if you're annoyed of the stupid little bell icon next to every calendar event, and can't seem to make it go away even by the Android interface, log into Google and change this under your current calendar settings.

If you go into the settings for the calendar, there's an option to Set default reminder. It will let you change it there.

Yep, but it doesn't take effect since the website calendar has this option set too. You have to turn it off in both places.
