Charging via computer WITHOUT syncing?

So does anyone know if there is a way to charge via the computer without syncing the SD card? The reason I ask is that I would like to take advantage of the information on my SD card while my phone is charging (Ringtones, backgrounds, etc.) Anyone know how this can be done? If there is an answer on the forum please re-direct me, but I did a search and couldn't find anything under the parameters I set.

Yeah, on my Curve, you could make it prompt you before connecting the OS to the Media Card. Hmmm . . . put it in the update wish-list!

turn off use for usb storage in the sd settings

isn't there a setting to use the sd card as mass storage in the g1s settings? I would assume if you unclick that it will not mount it when you plug it into the pc

Problem solved, just as you guys said, go to settings, SD and phone storage, then uncheck "Use for USB storage." Thanks guys.
