This thread is awfully quiet for such great news (first official OTA cupcake by TMobile). Can our UK friends run a "Check for updates"... SYSTEM > ABOUT PHONE > SYSTEM UPDATES, to verify this?

I have a feeling that will only allow you to get the update via that page if they have already tried to push the new rom to your phone.

The way tmobile's tweet was written, it sounds like its still a staged OTA update. But since its from TMobiles official UK twitter, its looking like it is going to happen!

So what does everyone think is going to happen with the haykur0 movement if jf releases a modded update? Will those builds become obsolete? I ask because I ASSsume that tmo release will be stable. Haykur0's builds are nice but a little bit buggy and kind of a pain to deal with. I hope I'm not offending anyone. (i use a haykur0 bulid btw)

I guess it depends which features T-Mobile UK will remove this time round to p**s off its customers.

Last time they axed Voice Search followed by latitude.

Should see latitude working again in this version....but i guess no Voice lovin for us Brits

i think one of two things will happen:

A: when official cupcake is released in the states jf and Haykuro will both have their own versions.

B: (and i hope its this one) they both work together to come out with one super version.

HTC has quietly added the 1.5 firmware for the G1 to their firmware page. You can grab it at http://www.htc.com/www/support/android/adp.html
Recently, I’ve been debating with myself if I wanted to tackle making a new “JF” image based on 1.5 when it came out. I really wasn’t looking forward to making a new update. But now that’s its actually here, the “update bug” has bitten again, so I’ll get to work on it this evening!

yeah i saw that already... but that is the ADP version he was talking about... the one about to come out now is for everyone else.

he also said he was releasing that update that night... its been 2 days since then...
