Dialing on G1

Im new to the forum, and a newbie to the G1, haven't rooted but now leaning towards maybe doing that asap...

Just today, i've had issues with friends of mine on my contacts saying I've been calling them yet..I didnt?

My phone is either in my pocket and I always have it on sleep?
There cannot be anyway that I am pressing the menu button, and dialing numbers out of coincidence and then leaving voicemails to my friends..
This happened to me while at work, and in class...
2 of my friends said that I left them long voicemails and it was just
background noise and my voice in the background..
So my question is...has anyone had any other issues with this similiar to this problem?
If so, what is the remedy/fix?
How can I possibly be making calls while my phone is on sleep...
help?

i've heard this might be caused by using an old sim card. is yours new?

How old is old?
I've had mine for about 4 years
Is it free to replace?

Well my phone is rooted and it's not doing this, although this was happening when I left the time lock off. Try rebooting your phone and see what that does. If not then contact T-mo.

You should have gotten a "spare" SIM in the box with the phone. But, mine is more than 4 years old. As suggested above, are you sure your screen is locked before you chuck it in your pocket?

I usually do put it on that but maybe i didnt?
I use the OS version of screen lock with the virtual lock so hope that helps
it hasnt done it to me recently, just 2 days ago 2 times
so I hope its done with, and i did a hard reset so i think that fixed it?

Yeah the hard reset will fix it. Sometimes there are dodgey apps in the mArket that you need to avoid. If it persist contact t moible for a new free sim
