When I'm attempting to download mp3s from some web pages in the browser by long-pressing and selecting "Save link," the download manager gives me the message "Cannot download. The content being downloaded is not supported on the phone." What's going on here? As far as I can tell these are just regular DRM-free mp3 files.
Similarly, when I attempt to download an MP3 of today's DemocracyNow program I just get a message that just says "Download unsuccessful."
Any way to deal with these? Are they too long or something?
(Apologies for cross-posting. I had originally posted this in the applications forum but it's probably more appropriate here.)
My curve had a 5mb download limit, it wouldn't download anything over 5mb, I have downloaded a few mp3's on the G1 but both of them were under the 5mb limit, so I'm not sure if that limit is a T-Mobile limitation or if it was a limit on the BB itself, if it's a T-Mobile network imposed limit that could explain your issue.
Hmm. I'll try downloading via wifi and see if that makes a difference.
Im having somewhat the same problems on both wifi and non-wifi, dont know whats up...
This happens to me when I try to d/l. The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe. I don't remember where, but I read that this is aknown problem with redirects, and that it is being looked into. Tmob allows the g1 can download files of at least 10 mb. If there is an upper limit I don't know. 10gb per month is the only number I've heard.

All restrictions are bypassed.

Alright, now I'm on a full keyboard and can type without confusing the hell out of everybody, including myself.
What I meant to say was that I have downloaded files a little bit greater than 10mb, and that the only imposed limit I've heard about is 10GB per month. Unsubstantiated, to my knowledge. Anyone care to verify this?
I'm not sure why they call it an unlimited data plan and simultaneously place a limit, but that's advertising for you.
Oh, and the original posters question may be a problem with redirects. That's what I run into when I try to download a podcast directly from http://www.theskepticsguide.org/. It is a redirect, and somewhere I read that redirects aren't working so well right now.
Is there a way to change the extension of a file you download? Any of the apps?
