Default Droid now or wait for Nexus

im wit tmobile but i hate the service. voice is ok but not even a spot of 3g in jackson, ms. well, verizon has 3g here so i wana switch. problem is i'm afraid that if i get the droid, the nexus will arrive the next day. i'm very excited about my switch since im a g1 early adopter. i love my g1 but my screen is cracked and its beginning to look like a skytel pager or something. i jus wana know what the community would do in this situation.

yea it is.. the voice coverage is great but it would be dumb to have a high end superphone but its slow as hell on the EDGE network.. a recent road trip to new orleans made me realize that even my unrooted g1 is much, much, MUCH better with 3G and i refuse to settle for anything less

When looking for a device you should consider coverage first. It is all fine and dandy to have an awesome device, but if you never have coverage it becomes pointless.

That being said, the rest is about personal preference. I would be patient and wait for the N1 on VZW in your case. I do not really have anything against the Moto Droid but I do not like the tactile QWERTY on that device and I love the slim form-factor and design of the N1.

With TTS capability I do not miss my tactile QWERTY and the switch to an all-touch device was easy for me. On top of that, the N1 is Google's baby... meaning you will most likely get all Android OS updates before other devices.

Perfect example, Android 2.1 and the Update1 already. This is not saying that other devices will not get the Android updates eventually, but the N1 gets special treatment from Google (which is kinda nice).

Love the N1, such a solid device.
It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me

The N1 doesn't work on Verizon? How come? Are they not GSM?
