Family Plan unlimited texting and g1 data plans

So what i was wondering was, my family has the family plan unlimited text messaging for 19.99, and the G1 plans all come with text messages include, which i find pretty retarded if you ask me....

does anyone know if there will be a plan with out messages included? Also did anyone notice that the G1 plans say unlimted "Web Access"? not unlimited data?

also since buying the phone it says it is required that you need to order the G1 data plans, but does that mean if you have the phone you are required to use the data plan? what if you want to cancel the data plan later?

i talked to a customer representive, and asked all these same questions, and she had no idea.....

any of you know?

If you want to use the browser or most any app developed for the G1, you'll want the data plan anyway. Really... this phone was designed around data. If all you want is to make simple calls and simple txting, then this is way more phone than you need or will probably even want. There IS a learning curve with the G1.

Plan A. Unlim Data no Text: 25 USD
Plan B. Unlim Data, 400 Text: 25 USD
Plan C. Unlim Data, Unlim Text: 35 USD

I got Plan A with Fam Bam Texting. All Plans are UNLIMITED DATA. Advertisement is to get you to pay the $35. Plan A,B is worded differently; might trick some into overages.

They created Plan A for people who already have unlimited text via family plan. This was created within days of the release.

If you attempt to select Plan B, I think you automatically get set to Plan A.

That's what happened to me. When I checked my account the day the phone was officially released (I actually got it 2 days earlier, but did not see the plans show up on my account), my plan was set to Plan C, even though I selected Plan B when I pre-ordered.

Before pre-ordering, I talked to someone at Tmobile, and they told me, at the time, they didn't know what they were going to do.

I called Tmobile again, and they checked the system and it said I was on Plan B and not Plan C. The rep suspected that, because they just created Plan A, they needed to work some things out in the system. They said try to look at my account next week and see if it gets updated to Plan A automatically. Sure enough, I received a text message from Tmobile telling me that my plan was changed without me doing anything. My sister (who is on my family plan and also got a G1) got the same notice and verified that the plan was switched to Plan A.

So, there's no consipracy here.
