Default Force Stop Pop-Up with Messages! Help!

For a while, I've been getting the force stop pop-up basically everytime I try to send a message, or just look at them. It's getting extremely annoying. Not sure why this may be occuring, but maybe it's from not deleting any of the threads. There's definitely a lot of threads in my inbox, and some of them have a couple thousand messages each. Would that be likely to cause the malfunction? Has anyone experienced this, then deleted their messages? I'm wondering if it would work before I delete them all.

    delete the threads !!!!!
this has been known about since day one with android . to many threads = too slow = force close . why do you need to save them anyways ? also , seems like you probably dont empty your other caches as well . empty the browser cache and the market cache , those are your largest caches probably .

lol I figured that was the obvious reason. Used to want to keep them, but now it's just retarded, so I'll get rid of them. And I always delete the internet cache, but I have to look into the market one. Thanks.

the market cache could grow to become huge sometimes . but the thing with too many text, threads , etc ... saved on the phone has been known about since the g1 just came out , thats why you dont read complaints about it anymore . most ppl know about it and how to take care of it

I've been having a similar issue. I had to turn off autorotate and it went away.
